A three-year tertiary professional education of Certified Dental Technician ends with a final professional examination – absolutorium. The educational programme of Certified Dental Technical prepares students for the profession at dental workplaces in hospitals, clinics, private dental laboratories in production and shops of the relevant specialisation. The students are prepared for the profession in the particular medical and preventive care without professional supervision.
The teaching language is Czech.
Students that had completed their studies at a secondary school with a school-leaving examination – maturita are admitted to the study on the basis of entrance examination. The course lasts three years and is implemented on a full-time basis. The school year is divided into two terms – winter and summer, each ending in an exam period.
Theoretical preparation takes place in the school, consisting of the subjects within the course, self-study and preparation for the examinations. Practical preparation is organised in a form of practical education in the school and at specialised workplaces as work practice. A graduate can use the title DiS – certified specialist. Tuition fees per one year are CZK 3,000. The fees are paid in two instalments.
